So I ordered my new drum kit last night!
Ended up going with the Simmons SD7K electronic drum set and having to just order that and the bass pedal completely wiped out my bank account. I still need to get some good headphones, but my ear buds will have to do until then -_-

The heat was fucking crazy yesterday - even though I should be used to it by now!
I threw up and then crawled around the house - and then FINALLY turned on the AC (my mom hates it though)

I'm deeply sorry for my long absence, some things had unexpectedly occurred, and well, yeah.
A few days before I was supposed to leave for a three day music festival, my mom slumped over while standing - and we had to drive her to the emergency room. Everything was fine, she just needed to keep a better eye on her diabetes. She had complained earlier that day of numbness in her arms and feeling weak - which made my step-dad and I worry a lot. Anyways, neither of them are on any type of insurance at the moment, so my mom's going to get a second job (on top of managing the restaurant). Since this year has been the worst they have ever experienced money-wise, it'll be a great help but I think it'll just stress her out even more so... I feel even shittier, knowing that I let some of you guys down through lj and penpals, I haven't sent any mail out for at least three months.

I know that I need to step up to the plate and help my parents out, and I will - but I can't help but feel even more tied down to this crappy hole in the wall they call a town. It's not like I've been occupied with anything else at the moment, but I just feel stuck. Again. School's going alright, although I should really buckle down again since my finals are coming up. School is the only thing I really need to focus on, it's the only thing I can focus on - the quicker I graduate, the quicker I can get out of here. I really want to see what the Portland scene's all about, but out of state colleges are something that I can't quite afford at the moment.

Michael and I did end up going to the Sasquatch Festival and it was really amazing. I'm even more depressed to come back to reality. The event lasted three days and so we had to camp out surrounded by other campers (full of drunk/high people xD). The bands were great (Deerhoof, not so much) and I especially loved Kings of Leon, NIN, Chromeo, Santigold, Murder City Devils, Silversun Pickups, and Zach Galfianakis. There were over 60 performers, but since the Gorge is really crappy and scheduled some of them at the same time, I was unable to see a lot of my favorite performers.

But yeah, I've decided that besides narrowing down my sight to school, I'm going to buy a drum kit and use that as my new hobby. If anybody has any experience purchasing drum kits or even playing the drums, I'd really like your input.

I know that I promised that I'd be on livejournal more often!
As you know, I haven't really written any entries for over a week, but I do promist you guys that I have been reading my f-list :)
So to update you guys on MY FIRST CONCERT EVAAAAR, my friend was able to get enough tickets for all three days - and he managed to get extra ones as well! He's planning on selling them on e-bay to help make some money back to cover the gas. 

My period started today, so instead of skipping class and leaving work early, I decided to duke it out.
I succeeded, but was in an extra bad mood today, lol. 
My mom's diabetes has been getting out of control again and it's just so frustrating!
She's not on any sort of medication (she claims we're too poor) - but then she eats a crapload of sugary food!
Normally, she's smarter than that. Crap, she's probably the one person that I think has a TON of common sense.
I just don't get it.
Maybe she's doing it for attention (this is not the first time) or maybe she's a food addict?
Whatever the case, because she knows she has no self control when it comes to food - she just shouldn't risk it and stop going to Wal-Mart.
My dad doesn't even say anything! I think he believes that she'll do whatever she wants - and that's true...but at least lead by example or...IDK, do something!

I took one of my mid-terms today!
I think I did an okay job with it, but most of it was due to the 20+ pages of vocabulary that I printed out xD
My other one is tomorrow morning at 8 AM sharp :P I'll probably just finish doing the vocabulary for that one, and then call it a night.
Someone (guessing a homeless person :P) took a dump in our restaurant parking lot - AGAIN.
My dad wasn't even going to clean it up because he's just so annoyed/pissed off with it - but it rained the whole afternoon, so hopefully that washed some of it away.

I wrote down twenty pages or political science terms and when I went to start reading the book for the class, I realized that I have to read half the book to get caught up xD Hahaha~ I'll try my hardest, it's pretty easy stuff to get a handle on.

Something's wrong with the powercord, so they're going to send me a new one - and if that doesn't work, then I'll have to send in my entire pc and they'll replace it.

My mom asked me what today was this morning, and I completely forgot.
Today's the day that they found my dad dead from a heart attack.

I finished one of your guys' letters, but I need to go to the post office to mail it off, and since I'm mailing a CD as well to a different penpal - I'll just wait until I'm finished with her letter.

My mom told me that she's concerned about my self esteem issues too - she says it's the reason I have mostly guy friends.
It's not like I'm sleeping with them, and if hanging out with them boosts my confidence, then what's the problem? Besides, most girls think I'm bitchy? I've just always gotten a long better with boys :/

I just got done reading 'Mutually Assured Destruction' and what the hell. That story was so unsettling and I'm not really sure why. Obviously, the characters and the relationships are so much more intense - but god. I think for one thing, I could totally identify with not just Bella, but her relationship with Edward? I hated everything about the story, but I couldn't stop reading it either.

Pretty much all of my underaged friends left me to go to Canada - they always end up ditching me.
